Description

The North American Silver Maple is one of the most popular coins in the world, largely due to its easily recognizable design and status as Canadian legal tender.

Issued annually by the Canadian Government’s own Royal Canadian Mint, the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf has been in production since 1988. Along with having a face value of 5 Canadian dollars, the Silver Maple weighs 1 troy ounce of .9999 pure silver, which also holds a tangible, variable value according to the spot price of silver.

The Maple is the flagship coin of the Royal Canadian Mint and is among the most recognizable coins in the world. A premier sovereign mint, Royal Canadian Mint has a proud heritage of high-quality & high purity silver coinage with world class quality and design intricacy. The RCM Silver Maple is one ounce and 99.99% pure.

This product category includes mixed dates of Silver Maples which will be selected at random. This Canadian coin is a great choice for those looking for a highly recognizable coin from a sovereign mint. Denominated with a value of five Canadian dollars, this is a respectable choice for any stack.

First introduced in 1988, nearly ten years after the gold version of the coin, the Silver Maple Leaf has the same designs on both sides as the gold version, with one minor exception: the obverse image of Queen Elizabeth II evolving according to her natural age over time.

On the obverse, there are four possible effigies and multiple versions of each. Queen Elizabeth II featured on the coins from 1988 to 2023, with three different portraits used during this time. These included right-profile busts created by Arnold Machin (1988-1989), Dora de Pedery Hunt (1990-2003), and Susanna Blunt (2004-2023). King Charles III debuted on the coins in 2024 and his left-profile effigy was created by Steven Rosati.
The reverse of each Silver Maple Leaf Coin bears the iconic sugar maple leaf alongside marks of the Canadian government, the .9999 purity, and the 1ozt weight.
